Looking for stimulation and social interaction or simply want to contribute to your community? Think volunteering and join our friendly team of volunteers at the Mornington Botanical Rose Gardens. It’s rewarding and fun and it benefits everyone in the community. No prior experience necessary. We will teach you the skills you need to help us keep our Rose Garden looking beautiful.
If maintaining roses is not your thing, there’s plenty of other tasks to get involved in. These range from administrative tasks, to driving the ride-on mower, maintaining lawns, whipper snipping, garden edging and other handy-man jobs including the maintenance of our irrigation systems.
We generally work Monday, Tuesday and Thursday mornings and you can pick your days and times to suit. Your commitment will be greatly appreciated and make a world of difference.
Our meeting room, the Don Gordon Garden Room, not only provides a library of books on roses and gardening, but is also a haven for our hard working volunteers. It’s a place where they can enjoy morning tea and chat and get updates on rose growing and care over a cuppa. The ambiance of the room and the happy approach of our volunteers’ team make it a very enjoyable experience.
From time to time, we organise social outings which are well received and well attended by our volunteers.
